Based in the sunny South East, my client develops market leading software for the logistics sector. The company has assembled a strong and capable software development team and is recruiting a Head of Software Engineering to manage and guide the team through the further development of the company's flagship product. The job role is based in Wexford, where the company have recently moved into a new office facility.
You will become a member of the management team of a fast expanding young company who are partnered with an impressive selection of the world's top logistics organisations. You will lead the product advancement from a software engineering perspective within a lean, Agile environment
You will take ownership of the development and management of the software product and will lead a team of ten software developers who are a combination of senior and junior engineers. You will ensure the continued development of the product within the defined road map and will inspire the team to maintain and advance on their current high quality work. You will be relied on to make an informed contribution to the strategic element of developing the product as to the advancement of the company as a whole. Mentoring, management and coaching the current engineering team is an important element of this job position, which your excellent communication and influencing skills will be of enormous value.
You will have had previous success at driving the development of a software product to a high level of quality and excellence. You will have grown a software engineering team and contributed to the technical growth of individuals and the engineering department as a whole. Leading by example, you will have inspired the engineering team to hit and exceed targets and goals within a progressive and supportive work environment. A high level of technical knowledge is required for this job role, particularly within product architecture and design.
