Software Placements Celebrates 10 years of success

The Software Placements team marks 10 years of success. In the recruitment industry where agencies often come and go, we have stayed on course and grown.

Global Pandemic

One of the advantages of having experienced founders that have worked through previous downturns, such as the dotcom bubble burst of the early 2000s and the financial crisis of late 2008, is that we were able to react quickly in a changing market.

Why Relocate to Ireland

It is home to over 900 Software companies, including both multinational and indigenous firms, employing 24,000 people and generating €16 billion of exports annually. The sector’s wide-ranging activities include Software Development, R&D, Business Services and EMEA/International headquarters.

Sixteen out of the top 20 global technology firms have strategic operations in Ireland, including Microsoft, Google, Apple and Metha.

The Semiconductor industry is based in Dublin, Belfast, Cork and Limerick and goes back to 1976 when Analog Devices established itself in Limerick, with a wafer fabrication facility and a design team making CMOS Digital to Analog Converters.

The next significant milestone was Intel setting up in Leixlip, near Dublin, in 1989.

Over the years, industry growth has been fuelled by a focus on engineering and technology at several universities and ITs.

Multinationals such as: Qualcomm, Cadence, Infineon, Vishay, Xilinx/AMD, Bosch, Synopsys, Microchip, CEVA-DSP, Decawave/Qorvo to name a few!

The industry support infrastructure was greatly enhanced by advanced research at several institutes across Ireland, including the Tyndall National Institute in Cork (established as NMRC in 1981), and the CRANN Institute in Dublin established in 2003.
